I have the situation going on right now: sent my test driver to track for 15 laps, then swapped a new driver from the roster to his place (on lap 7) and assigned same car to new driver. Then sent the other guy on track as well.
VOILA: 2 guys on track at same time with the same car :D. That seems like a bug to me.
Edit:
Doublechecked: it is how this actually works. So if you have lots of drivers in your roster you can do a whole lot of test laps with same parts very fast. |

Yup, it has always been there. Not sure why so when I had a youth team I could always have all my drivers on track using just three cars testing long stint instead of short stints thus being able to out test most of the others in my division.
It should be looked at and fixed !! |

| So can we count this as a feature then and not a bug? Seems a bit silly if you have several guys on track at same time on same car. Not very realistic imo. :) |

I think one driver goes out, and the wear is added straight away, so then anyone else can use the same parts, or same car.
It just helps to save some peoples time in my opinion, as long as the parts wear correctly. So you dont have to wait to use your last front wing, for example |

As far as I remember it only happens during testing weeks to help with the fact that you don't need to build a car for every driver that you have. Wear rates and development is added right away to the cars so it doesn't have an really benefit other then quickly being able to complete more laps without having to build more then three cars for the drivers to use.
I am going to go as far to say that this was added not only to help managers test faster but also to take a load off the serve since it can look for a limited amount of cars per team instead of 6 or seven cars but not 100% sure as Frank is the only one that can answer that one. |
