I was just thinking our calendar is quite short compared to the actual f1 calendar so can we have more races for Season 24

I think 13 weeks and 10 rounds of racing is good, as it means we get 4 seasons per year, if it was extended, then we'd get less seasons in per year, and potentially it'd be a much much harder and longer trip to the front as the leading teams would have even more chance to win more races, thus more prizemoney, thus more to invest back into development.

I'd personally prefer it to stay as it is already.

I would like to see the season longer since it would force us to develop at a faster rate and make the championship more interesting since we could have a team very fast at the start of the season being over taken by a team further down the standings later in the season.

If we did make the season longer I would like to see two or three season per year but more towards three I think.

three season per year would be an increase to 17 week season with two weeks for re-runs or built in maintenance time.

Two season per year would be a 26 week season - which i think would be to long.

I actually thought that 4 seasons a year was a bit to little... If anything perhaps we should have more seasons a year, that way we will be saying more teams moving up or down :D Perhaps we could remove one the testing weeks and a race or two ... hmmm yes?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I recall Frank claiming that changing the length of the season is a definate no.

The only calendar-related changes I can ever see happening is the introduction of new venues, or maybe a reorganisition of the season structure. I remember Frank hinting at the prospect of a German or Polish grand prix, but that was a very long time ago. He hasn't even got round to giving names to the Indian and Portuguese circuits. He's probably got more important things to sort out.

if the length of the season wont change then why dont we only have 2 testing weeks one at the start and 1 in the middle so we get more races

I dont see any problems with the current system.
The ten races we have currently always seems to offer just the right amount, and the testing is good aswell
Thats just my thoughts though

I think that 13 weeks is ideal - just enough to time to ensure that relegation and promotion battles are sustained enough to create tension, without ensuring that those in the middle are ever too comfortable...

However, if week 1 were to be abolished and replaced with a week for Frank to introduce new changes/try things out/admin duties and general maintenance, it might make the entire season run more smoothly, even if we do miss out on a (fairly dull) week of Pitwall...

Yes i agree that it would be nice to have week 2 become the start of the season and not week 3 so we get 11 races and 2 testing weeks. It should make the first week more active as it stand week 1 is normally boring, week 2 is busy but can still be dull and really everyone is only focussing on the race weekend. I know many commited team's focus on the testing weeks aswell but for new team's and some of the old timer's this would increase the entertainment in the game and it might even encourage more people to carry on playing rather than quiting.

forgive me if i seem a little behind on thins im still figuring it all out but as far as im aware.. testing only tells me how duff my parts are and usually within 1 lap. all more testing does is wear them out in the space of about 10-15 minutes. though i suppose with high quality parts you would be able to factor how often your tyres wear and how long before you clutch gives in. unless there is a benefit im not seeing , an improvement in the cars general performance for the season?

During the first two weeks ( week 1 & 2) and week 8 testing week every lap counts towards development of your cars so it's cheaper to spend a few million developing your car by testing then developing it off the track. If you combine the two together you can see a massive jump in development but the catch is every team develops equal thus you need to do more testing laps then your any of your division mates otherwise you might not see much improvement from testing.

If you're having issues with the life of your components, try to focus on reliability (production page). Worst case scenario, your reliability will be Very bad, which is probably enough to complete most races on normal orders.
